DESCRIPTION:Beginning this season\, BldgSciAVL and Green Built Alliance are teaming up quarterly to bring regional experts together with WNC’s design and construction community for practical\, demonstration- and technique-focused building science education. \n\n\n\nJoin us for the first member social + demo event on Thursday\, Sept. 24 starting at 5pm to reconnect\, network\, and talk shop with fellow GBA members and supporters. \n\n\n\nWedge Brewery at Foundation on Foundy StreetThursday\, September 245pm: Networking + social time5:30 – 6:15pm: Hands-on demonstration + presentationA Q&A will immediately follow the demo. \n\n\n\nBurger Billy Food Truck will be onsite\, and we’ll have a few giveaways for those who stick around until the end. \n\n\n\nSOCIAL + DEMO DETAILS: Window Installation + Air Sealing \n\n\n\nAre your window installation and air sealing details as good as they could be? \n\n\n\nThrough the Green Built Homes inspections process\, GBA has noticed opportunities to improve window installation and air sealing\, sometimes by correcting an issue and other times by refining the technique. So we’re taking those lessons from the field and turning them into a hands-on learning opportunity. \n\n\n\nJoin us Thursday\, September 24\, as Nick Shaw of 475 High Performance Building Supply demonstrates best-practice principles for window installation and air sealing. \n\n\n\n\nWondering if your crews or subcontractors are using the best approach?\n\n\n\nHave new hires who could benefit from seeing best practices firsthand?\n\n\n\nStill wondering whether sill back dams are really necessary?\n\n\n\n\nNick will cover drainage pathways\, air sealing\, back dams\, head flashings\, tapes\, sealants\, and more.
