Hats off to Green Built Alliance member Assembly Build for winning the 2025 Innovation Award during the 2025 WNC Parade of Homes.
The Innovation Award gets to the heart of the Green Built Alliance mission: that sustainable, high-performance homes should be an achievable standard for everyone. It recognizes creative, practical solutions that make energy-efficient, sustainable homes replicable and more accessible to everyone. The award represents the intersection of thoughtful design and resourceful construction.
Assembly Build’s Haith home embodies that spirit wholly.
With a simple 24-by-32-foot box design, prefabricated walls that went up in a day and cut down on site waste, durable siding that will naturally age and blend into the landscape, materials chosen for longevity and low maintenance, the encapsulated crawlspace, an ERV system, Energy Star appliances, and careful air sealing, every detail was guided by efficiency and intention. This home achieves exceptional energy performance and scored the lowest HERS rating of any entry without solar.
The natural light, skylights, and light-toned finishes create a sense of warmth and well-being, keeping the space bright and uplifting while reducing the need for artificial light.
This home reminds us that innovation isn’t always about new gadgets, solar power, or high-end materials. Sometimes, it’s about reimagining what’s possible. It’s proof that building green can be practical, beautiful, and within reach.
