Five Simple Ways to Support Green Building This Giving Season

After the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and the frenzied online deal-grabbing of Cyber Monday, comes #GivingTuesday: a one-day annual movement to support charitable giving.

We know there are many worthy nonprofits vying for your patronage this season, and deeply appreciate your ongoing support of Green Built Alliance’s mission of advancing sustainability in the built environment through our many community-focused programs.

Below are five quick ways you can contribute to the work we are doing in Western North Carolina today, tomorrow and all year-round.

Donate to support Green Built Alliance’s work as a whole in our community. Icing on the cake: you receive special perks and incentives when you contribute via Mountain Xpress’ Give!Local campaign.

Rather give to support one specific program? Help our partners at Energy Savers Network keep local homes warmer this winter. We’ve been partnering with ESN since 2017 as their fiscal sponsor and a close collaborator recent Blue Horizons Project work. Simply check the box on our website’s donate page to flag the funds for ESN.

Shop local to support Green Built Alliance and artisans worldwide. Complete your holiday shopping by buying beautiful fair-trade gifts at Ten Thousand Villages at 10 College Street in downtown Asheville. Shop from now until Friday, Dec. 7, and mention Green Built Alliance at the checkout counter for 15 percent of a purchase to be donated to us.

When buying local isn’t an option, let your Amazon purchases support us too. Follow this link so Green Built Alliance receives proceeds via AmazonSmile. Once you set us as your designated charity, we’ll receive 0.5% of eligible future purchases when you start at smile.amazon.com. This is a way to support us with purchases you’re already making on Amazon this holiday and all year long.
